Group Leader Position on eukaryotic RNA Biology (Academic A13-A14)

The Group Leader is expected to establish their own research group focusing on long noncoding RNA or RNA protein interactions in human or mouse cells. This position is limited to 5 years but may be extended to a permanent position. The Postdoc and PhD positions are available in various DFG and BMBF-funded projects focusing on eukaryotic or bacterial RNA in the research groups Vogel, Sharma, Eulalio and Siegel. Applicants should have experience in biochemistry, molecular biology, cell biology, biophysics or bioinformatics. For applicants to the group leader positions we expect outstanding research experience in the field of RNA or gene regulation. Requisitos:
 
Formación posdoctoral  superior a  6 años, reglada y documentada, en Investigación Biomédica, preferiblemente en el área de células madre y  medicina regenerativa.
Estancia posdoctoral en un centro extranjero (mínimo 18 meses), en actividades preferiblemente relacionadas con la medicina regenerativa.
Acreditación oficial, como personal para llevar a cabo procedimientos en animales de experimentación (Categoría B) y como personal encargado de dirigir y diseñar los procedimientos (Categoría C).
Conocimientos de citometría de flujo.
Conocimientos de biología celular y molecular
Experiencia en manejo de animales de laboratorio.
Conocimientos de técnicas de cirugía en experimentación animal.
Experiencia en aplicación de terapia celular a animales de experimentación.
Experiencia en cultivos de células derivadas de médula ósea.
Experiencia en  inmunocitoquímica e inmunohistoquímica convencional y de fluorescencia.
Experiencia en análisis histológico.
Amplios conocimientos en microscopía óptica, confocal y electrónica.
Experiencia en técnicas de microdisección por láser y secuenciación génica.
Experiencia en: cultivos celulares, criopreservación y vitrificación celular, ensayos de migración, citometría de flujo, técnicas de transfección celular.
Conocimiento del idioma Inglés: nivel alto (hablado y escrito). Nivel de comprensión de textos científicos: alto.
Informática: Conocimientos en Técnicas de Imagen aplicadas a Biología celular, Bioestadística y programas de morfometría celular.
Participación en ensayos clínicos y/o proyectos de investigación  de Terapia Celular.
Capacidad para dirigir proyectos de investigación: Haber dirigido al menos un proyecto de investigación.
Capacidad de comunicación oral y escrita: Experiencia en presentación de resultados de forma oral y escrita en foros nacionales e internacionales.

PhD - Structural Genomics

The CNAG started operating in March 2010 with a park of twelve second generation DNA sequencers supported by an extensive informatics infrastructure, becoming one of the major Genome Sequencing Centers in Europe. The CNAG is actively involved in collaborative research projects on a number of specific topics: Disease Gene Identification, Cancer Genomics, Genomics of Infectious Diseases, Model Organism Genomics and Synthetic Biology Genomics of Model Organisms. In addition, we participate in several consortia of networked projects such as the International Cancer Genome Consortium (www.icgc.org), and EU-funded projects such as READNA, AIRPROM, SYBARIS, ESGI and BLUEPRINT.

The CNAG seeks a talented young student with a strong background in bioinformatics for the Structural Genomics Team working on comparative docking for target identification in Tuberculosis. This post is funded by a Plan Nacional of the MINECO. The successful candidate will report to the Genome Biology Group Leader.

Responsibilities:

- Development and implementation of a comparative docking software
- Describe the genome-wide maps of ligand-target interaction in Tuberculosis

Requirements:

- Bachelors degree in Bioinformatics of a related field, Computer Science would be a plus.
- Demonstrated experience in Bioinformatics analysis for comparative docking.
- Master in Bioinformatics would be a plus.
- Average qualification >2.0 (Spanish System).

PostDoc - Biología

The Centre for Genomic Regulation (http://www.crg.eu), located at the Parc de Recerca Biomèdica de Barcelona (http://www.prbb.org), is a leading Institute in Genomics Research in Barcelona. The CRG includes 5 research programmes: Gene Regulation, Stem Cells & Cancer, Cell & Development Biology, Systems Biology, Genes & Disease, and Bioinformatics & Genomics, and has a partnership with the EMBL through the Systems Biology Programme. The Centre for Genomic Regulation has entered a partnership with the European Bioinformatics Institute (http://www.ebi.ac.uk) to explore and develop joint services based around human sequences and genotypes, in particular those associated with phenotype information. The CRG-EBI operation is expected to grow within the next few years to host a Group of developers, curators and annotators distributed in three teams in charge, respectively, of Data, Infrastructure and Analysis.

The CRG is looking for a Team Leader. The Team Leader will lead the Data Team, fundamental for the development of the human phenotype project in Barcelona. He or she will work under the supervision of the Director of the CRG Group and in close collaboration with the rest of the teams at the CRG and the EBI. He or she will initially manage a Data Team of 2-3 annotators/curators/developers and help setting up the Infrastructure and Analysis Teams. The Team leader will be required to oversee the development of standard procedures, documentation, publications, data models (including models for phenotype data) and other aspects of the project. The ideal candidate should have a PhD in molecular biology, genetics, bioinformatics or related field and a minimum of five years of relevant postdoctoral experience. Additionally, the candidate should have proven experience in database management and genome analysis, with emphasis on variation and/or phenotypes. Proficiency in Perl and relational databases (e.g. MySQL and Oracle) is expected. The post holder will be expected to be comfortable working in a UNIX environment and with very large databases. The candidate must have experience in managing developers and strong communication skills.

Técnico Superior para la Unidad de Proteómica

El Instituto Aragonés de Ciencias de la Salud contrata un Técnico Superior para la Unidad de Proteómica, en los Servicios Científico Técnicos del nuevo Centro de Investigación Biomédica de Aragón. La Unidad está dotada con equipos de última generación, ya en funcionamiento, y cuenta con otro Técnico Superior, con el que el candidato trabajará en equipo.

Requisitos:

- Titulación Superior Universitaria en el ámbito biomédico
- Formación específica en técnicas de análisis, identificación, cuantificación de proteínas y péptidos, electroforesis mono y bidimensional, cromatografía líquida, espectrofotometría de masas y metabolómica.
- Formación en manejo de datos y estadística aplicada a espectrometría de masas y proteómica.
- Experiencia en técnicas de separación por cromatografía líquida convencional y nano y por electroforesis mono y bidimensional y DIGE.
- Experiencia en manejo de equipos MALDI-TOF y triple cuadrupolo-trampa, y en técnicas de identificación y cuantificación de proteínas, péptidos y metabolitos mediante análisis de espectrometría de masas.
- Producción científica acreditada relacionada con el empleo de técnicas de análisis de proteínas, péptidos y metabolitos.
- Manejo de entornos informáticos específicos: Bases de Datos de información biológica y proteómica, Identificación de proteínas, cuantificación de metabolitos/ proteínas, análisis imágenes 2D y DIGE.

PhD - MicroRNAs in cell death and survival fate

The Pharmacology Unit of the Dept. of Experimental Medicine, Institut de Recerca Biomèdica de Lleida, University of Lleida, Catalonia, invites applications for a doctoral position to study the role of MicroRNAs in cell life and death regulation. The candidate will be involved in a 3 years project under the supervision of Dr. Ribas who is the head leader of “regulation of the cell death by non-coding RNAs (ncRNAs)” team.

Profile:

Candidates should possess a master degree in Life Sciences and be willing to initiate their Ph.D studies. Successful candidates will be guided in the application to a government Fellowship (see below: Appendix A and B). Applicants should be highly motivated students willing to take on intellectual, scientific and technical challenges. English is meant to be the communication language in the lab.

PostDoc - Cancer Epigenetics and Biology Programme

A Postdoctoral Contract is offered in the Chromatin and Disease Group (led by Dr. Esteban Ballestar) within the Cancer Epigenetics and Biology Programme (PEBC) at the Bellvitge Biomedical Research Institute (IDIBELL) in Barcelona. Research in the laboratory focuses in epigenetic deregulation mechanisms in the immune system, particularly in the context of autoimmune disease and different differentiation models relevant to immune-related disease [Javierre et al. (2010) Genome Res. 20, 170-179; Ballestar (2011) Nature Reviews Rheumatology 7, 263-271; Rodriguez-Ubreva et al. (2012) Nucleic Acids Research 40, 1954-1968]. The Chromatin and Disease Group (PEBC, IDIBELL) has recently been awarded with a FP7 EU grant for the integration of next-generation sequencing (NGS) data using an immune system model. The project joins efforts from eleven international and multidisciplinary labs and
companies to create the bioinformatics and biostatistical framework for the integrative analysis of NGS, proteomics and metabolomics data. We are seeking for an enthusiastic researcher with strong background in both generation and bioinformatic analysis of high-throughput epigenomics/miRNA expression data.

Requirements:

- PhD degree in Biology, Molecular Biology, Genetics or related.
- Strong background in bioinformatic analysis of high-throughput DNA methylation, ChIP-on-chip and/or ChIP-seq data.

Microscopía de fluorescencia

Se ofrece contrato de doctorado en microscopía de fluorescencia de moléculas individuales y de súper-resolución óptica.
El objetivo del proyecto es desarrollar nuevos métodos de microscopía óptica de súper-resolución aplicados a ADN. Concretamente, el doctorando construirá y caracterizará nanomateriales de ADN fluorescentes usando microscopía de fluorescencia de moléculas individuales y microscopía de fuerza atómica. También estudiará las propiedades fotofísicas de estos materiales usando varias técnicas espectroscópicas. Los nuevos métodos de súper-resolución que se desarrollen se aplicarán al estudio de la estructura de los cromosomas. El enfoque del proyecto será flexible en función de la experiencia y los intereses del doctorando. El proyecto se llevará a cabo en el Instituto Madrileño de Estudios Avanzados en Nanociencia (IMDEA Nanociencia), una institución dinámica, multidisciplinar e internacional en el Campus de Cantoblanco en Madrid.
