The CNAG started operating in March 2010 with a park of twelve second generation DNA sequencers supported by an extensive informatics infrastructure, becoming one of the major Genome Sequencing Centers in Europe. The CNAG is actively involved in collaborative research projects on a number of specific topics: Disease Gene Identification, Cancer Genomics, Genomics of Infectious Diseases, Model Organism Genomics and Synthetic Biology Genomics of Model Organisms. In addition, we participate in several consortia of networked projects such as the International Cancer Genome Consortium (www.icgc.org), and EU-funded projects such as READNA, AIRPROM, SYBARIS, ESGI and BLUEPRINT.
The CNAG seeks a talented young student with a strong background in bioinformatics for the Structural Genomics Team working on comparative docking for target identification in Tuberculosis. This post is funded by a Plan Nacional of the MINECO. The successful candidate will report to the Genome Biology Group Leader.
Responsibilities:
- Development and implementation of a comparative docking software
- Describe the genome-wide maps of ligand-target interaction in Tuberculosis
Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in Bioinformatics of a related field, Computer Science would be a plus.
- Demonstrated experience in Bioinformatics analysis for comparative docking.
- Master in Bioinformatics would be a plus.
- Average qualification >2.0 (Spanish System).
