A. Objeto de la convocatoria:

El objetivo de esta oferta es seleccionar un candidato, para solicitar la convocatoria de Investigador Postdocatoral Mineco 2014, bajo la dirección del Dr. Rocío Garcia-Carbonero, responsable del grupo perteneciente al Instituto de Biomedicina de Sevilla –IBIS- ubicado en el Hospital Universitario Virgen del Rocío de Sevilla.

B.- Funciones del puesto:

I am seeking for a competitive candidate to apply for the current open call from MINECO: AYUDAS PARA FORMACION POSDOCTORAL.

Our research aims to characterize molecular mechanisms taking place in bladder cancer pathogenesis, and to translate the information of such analyses into biomarker tools that would improve the clinical management of bladder cancer patients. Our experimental strategy starts by integrating the information from the molecular characterization of bladder tumors using high-throughput approaches at the DNA, RNA and protein levels. Subsequent studies are designed: a) to understand how selected identified targets contribute to tumorigenesis and cancer progression; and b) to translate such information into multiplexed biomarkers using tissue (for disease stratification and outcome prediction) and body fluids (for early diagnosis and follow-up). More specifically, the major techniques we are currently investing on are epigenetic and proteomic approaches. Both are applied for identifying and validating individual and multiplexed biomarkers in clinical specimens, while proteomic approaches are additionally exploited for understanding molecular pathways by which genes of our interest (myopodin and KiSS-1, and others) are involved in bladder cancer. Our biomarker studies aim to address the four major clinical needs in bladder cancer: diagnosis, surveillance, progression into invasive and metastatic disease, and predict therapeutic response to the Bacille of Calmette-Guerin and cisplatin combinations.

PostDoc - Molecular mechanisms of neurodegeneration

Postdoctoral position at European Neuroscience Institute in Germany on Molecular mechanisms of neurodegeneration resulting from synaptic defects.

The laboratory of Ira Milosevic at European Neuroscience Institute in Göttingen, Germany is currently looking for a postdoctoral researcher.

Our research focuses on the studies of synaptic vesicle dynamics and its role in synaptic physiology and neurodegenerative diseases. We employ cellular and mouse models of defective synaptic vesicle recycling and combinations of cell/molecular biology, biochemistry, electron microscopy, advanced imaging and multi-dimensional genomics. This postdoctoral position will capitalize on the preliminary data obtained through next generation sequencing of various animal models, and focus on dissecting the molecular mechanisms of defective synaptic vesicle recycling that lead to neurodegeneration, in particular to Parkinson’s disease.

The successful candidate will be an active member of a vibrant international team and will get direct supervision from the PI throughout the development of the project. The project will involve preparation of primary neuronal cultures, and molecular follow-up using advanced imaging, genomics and biochemistry.

The Centre for Epidemiological Studies on HIV and STIs of Catalonia (CEEISCAT) (www.ceeiscat.org), part of the Catalan Agency for Public Health, is looking for a researcher to joint to a European Project co-founded by the Executive Agency for Health and Consumers (EAHC), titled “Operational knowledge to improve HIV early diagnosis and treatment among vulnerable groups in Europe” (EURO-EDAT Project).

The candidate will work under the supervision of the Principal Investigator and the Project Managers. He or she will work together with the Steering Committee and the Associated Partners.

REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES:

In particular, he or she will be responsible of the following tasks:

- To assist in the management tasks of the overall project.

- To design, in collaboration with the Associated Partners, a protocol for a longitudinal study among HIV-negative men who have sex with men (MSM) that are clients of a subset of European Community Based Voluntary and Counselling services specifically addressed to MSM (Checkpoints).

- To implement and coordinate a multicenter cohort of HIV negative MSM.

- To monitor data collection and to assess quality of the collected data; data analysis and results interpretation.

- To develop reports, conference presentations and scientific articles.

- To participate in other task related to the different Work Packages of the project.

Se buscan candidatos interesados en solicitar un contrato Postdoctoral en el Laboratorio de Adipobiología del IMIBIC/Hospital Universitario Reina Sofía/Universidad de Córdoba en la presente convocatoria de “Contratos para la formación postdoctoral” del MINECO (BOE Nº 313, 31 de diciembre, 2013).
