Description

The Centre for Epidemiological Studies on HIV and STIs of Catalonia (CEEISCAT) (www.ceeiscat.org), part of the Catalan Agency for Public Health, is looking for a researcher to joint to a European Project co-founded by the Executive Agency for Health and Consumers (EAHC), titled “Operational knowledge to improve HIV early diagnosis and treatment among vulnerable groups in Europe” (EURO-EDAT Project).
The candidate will work under the supervision of the Principal Investigator and the Project Managers. He or she will work together with the Steering Committee and the Associated Partners.
REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES:
In particular, he or she will be responsible of the following tasks:
- To assist in the management tasks of the overall project.
- To design, in collaboration with the Associated Partners, a protocol for a longitudinal study among HIV-negative men who have sex with men (MSM) that are clients of a subset of European Community Based Voluntary and Counselling services specifically addressed to MSM (Checkpoints).
- To implement and coordinate a multicenter cohort of HIV negative MSM.
- To monitor data collection and to assess quality of the collected data; data analysis and results interpretation.
- To develop reports, conference presentations and scientific articles.
- To participate in other task related to the different Work Packages of the project.

Requirements

We are looking for candidates with:
- Education: Health o Social Sciences degree with training in Public Health, particularly
in epidemiology.
- Experience: Protocol design and project implementation, field work and project coordination, supervision of data collection and data analysis. Experience in working with MSM Community organisations and people living with HIV.
- Knowledge: Excellent level of oral and written English. Spanish or Catalan language skills are desirable, but not necessary. High MS Office (Word, Excel, Power Point and Access) skills required.
- Knowledge of statistical packages (SPPS, SAS) and previous scientific publications would be an asset.
- A valid work permit for the European Union.

A full-time position for 3 years after a 6 months probation period.
Salary according to the background and experience of the candidate within the Spanish salary scale for researchers (CIBERESP, ISCIII).
