Description
Coding of bioinformation in glycans and information transfer via lectins, i.e. the Sugar Code, is key to a wealth of medically relevant processes, as for example infection, immune regulation and malignancy, now awaiting its full exploitation pharmaceutically. GLYCOPHARM is a Marie Curie Initial Training Network aimed to provide training to early-stage and experienced researchers in the interdisciplinary field of glycosciences. The network is composed of 14 research groups specialised in chemistry, bioinformatics, biophysics, biology, biomedicine and biotechnology, including private companies devoted to the development and commercialisation of innovative procedures in the field of molecular diagnostics, thereby covering each step of the drug-design process. For information on the composition of the network, please visit http://cordis.europa.eu/projects/317297.
Requirements
Early-Stage Researchers cannot hold a PhD and must be in the first 4 years of their research career. Experienced Researchers must hold a PhD and/or at least 4, but less than 5, years of research experience. Researchers can be of any nationality, but they must comply with the mobility rule specifying that they must not have resided or carried out his/her main activity (work, studies, etc) in the country of the host organisation for more than 12 months in the 3 years before recruitment (calculated at the date of recruitment). Short stays, such as holidays, are not taken into account.
