Image Acquisition and Data Analysis

Curie Institute
Paris, France

Description

The Curie Institute is a world leader research institute with strong interaction between biology, physics and medicine. The laboratory is located in a strategic position in the center of Paris and has an outstandingly rich environment in terms of cultural exchange, seminars and collaboration opportunities. The interests of the institute cover many fields in fundamental biology and cell imaging: cell transport and motility, genetics, morphogenesis and immunology. The recruited engineer will work in the Inserm unit 932 of the Institut Curie headed by Dr. Sebastian Amigorena, in collaboration with researchers in immunology, cell biology and biophysics, who are actively developing novel imaging approaches. The Research Engineer will participate in a project aiming at unraveling the fundamental cell biology of dendritic cells (cell migration, antigen presentation, phagocytosis, membrane trafficking, and cytoskeleton dynamics).

Requirements

We are looking for an engineer with experience in image acquisition, analysis and quantification. The ideal candidate has a good knowledge of programming and a PhD in image acquisition and data treatment. He/she must be motivated to develop and adapt existing algorithms to quantitative fluorescence, automatic multiple particle tracking and perform analysis of data extracted from images. He/she will be also responsible for training and assisting the other members of the Unit in the image analysis and the use of the microscopes.
