Description
Within a third party-funded project we re looking for a PhD student. The position is available from January 2013. The project is based at the Institute for Cardiovascular Prevention, LMU Munich. The project centers around the role of neutrophils in chronic inflammation with a specific emphasis of atherosclerosis. A primary aim of the project is the local delivery/over-expression of anti-inflammatory mediators designed to reverse atherosclerosis. Methodologically, the project involves cloning techniques, biophysical and morphological characterization of nano-carriers, as well as in-vitro and in-vivo delivery approaches. Hence, applicants should have a strong background in molecular biology and should be willing to learn animal models of atherosclerosis.
Requirements
Applicants should have a Master degree in a relevant field from a European university and good knowledge in the above-described techniques. Applicant should be self-motivated, enthusiastic, a quick learner, a good team-player and have effective communication skills.
