PhD - Molecular Electronics

NANOMOL
Barcelona, Spain

Description

We offer a PhD contract starting from the 1st of January 2014 to perform research into the fabrication and characterisation of organic electronics devices, with special emphasis on organic field-effect transistors. The work will be embedded in a ERC StG European project.
This research group approaches some of the most exciting and challenging fields that a a materials scientist can explore nowadays — the study of advanced organic functional materials and nanoscopic systems with useful electronic (superconductors, metallic conductors, semiconductors), magnetic (ferromagnets, superparamagnets, single molecule magnets, nanoporous magnets, etc), biological and/or optical properties. We are also involved on the development of materials processing techniques, molecular self-assembly and on the preparation of functional nanostructured materials.

Requirements

Candidates must hold a degree in Materials Science, Physics or Chemistry. An interdisciplinary outlook is desired and will be encouraged. Experience in organic electronic devices and electrical characterization is recommended. The successful candidates will work in an international environment and might travel to other European countries to develop the project. Excellent English language level.
