Chalmers University
Gothenburg, Sweden
Description
The Department of Signals and Systems is seeking a Postdoctoral research
fellow in Signal Processing, with a strong background in Applied
Mathematics.
The position is not tied to a specific project, so there is a great freedom
in selecting research topics. However, a successful candidate should have
research interests and a solid background related to one or more of the
following application areas:
-Array Signal Processing.
-Sparse Signal Modeling.
-MIMO Radar.
-Microwave-Based Sensing.
-MIMO Communication Systems
The position is placed in the Signal Processing Group at the Department of
Signals and Systems. The group performs research in the general area of
Statistical Signal Processing and Image Analysis, with applications in
Automotive Safety, Biomedical Engineering, Microwave-Based Measurement systems,
MIMO Communications and Radar systems.
The Post-doctoral position is an appointment
that offers an opportunity to qualify for further research positions within
academia or industry. The majority of your working time is devoted to your own
research as a member of the Signal Processing Group. Included in your work is
also to take part in supervision of Ph.D. students and M.Sc. thesis students.
Teaching of undergraduate students may also be included to a small extent.
Requirements
To qualify for the position of postdoc, you must have a doctoral degree in
Signal Processing or in a related field. In addition, a theoretical background
in the following areas is desired:
-Statistical Signal Processing, including Detection, Estimation and
Classification.
-Mathematical Optimization Techniques, especially Convex Optimization.
-Linear Algebra.
You are expected to be somewhat accustomed to
teaching, and to demonstrate good potential within research and education in
a relevant field; the PhD degree should generally not be older than three
years. The position requires sound verbal and written communication
skills in English.
