Description
One of main R&D topics of the High Temperature Processes Unit of IMDEA Energía is focused on electricity generation, industrial process heat and chemical energy carriers using high temperatures and/or high solar flux.
IMDEA Energía is opening a Postdoctoral Scientist Position on High Temperature Technologies and Applications, with the following characteristics:
Tasks:
•Applied research in the field of high temperature solar technologies.
•R&D on solar thermal concentrating components, systems or processes.
•Participation in national and international research projects.
•Dissemination and publication of research results in scientific journals.
•Supervision of undergraduate and graduate staff working in the R&D group.
Requirements
•Ph.D. degree in Energy, Mechanical or Chemical Engineering, Material Sciences, or Physical Science.
•Solid background in some of the following areas: heat and mass transfer, fluid mechanics, high temperature processes, thermal power systems. Background and skills on solar energy and CSP technologies would be acknowledged though applications of candidates from other fields are welcome.
•Accredited oral and written communication skills in English.

Benefits
Remuneration: Between 35,000€ - 40,000€ per year, depending upon qualification and expertise, plus national social insurance coverage including health insurance and retirement plan.
Duration: The position is available immediately and is a one year appointment with annual renew-als depending on performance up to a maximum of 4 years.
