Description
The Integrative Cell and Tissue Dynamics group at the Institute for Bioengineering of Catalonia (IBEC) is looking for a PhD candidate in the field of Cellular Biophysics to apply for the current 2013 call for “Contratos Predoctorales para la Formación de Doctores” (former FPI) from the Ministerio de Economía y Competitividad (MINECO). We are looking for young scientists from the National or International community who wish to do their PhD in a stimulating environment, rich in technological resources and campus life.
Tasks and responsibilities:
- The main goal of the doctoral thesis will be the experimental study of intercellular adhesion in physiological conditions and in cancer.
- Cellular and molecular biology techniques will be used in combination with nanotechnologies developed by the group.
Requirements
- Degree and Master in Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Biomedicine, Biotechnology, Engineering or similar.
- Very good academic record (>2.5 for 1-4 system).
- High level of English.
- Availability to perform research stages in International Centers.
- High motivation and ability to be involved in a multidisciplinary team.
- Excellent team working and communication skills.
- Being registered in a PhD program at the time of the signature of the predoctoral contract.
