Description
ALBA is the Spanish Synchrotron Radiation Facility operated by the Consortium CELLS, which is equally funded by the Spanish Government (Ministerio de Economía y Competividad) and the Catalan Government (Generalitat de Catalunya, Departament d'Economia i Coneixement). ALBA consists of a complex of electron accelerators whose objective are to generate extremely brilliant synchrotron light beams with photon energies spanning from the infrared to the hard X-ray region. The instrument scientist will join the CLAESS beamline team (http://www.cells.es/Beamlines/CLAESS). The functions will be to help in the activities of the beamline. Specific tasks are:
- Participate in the public and industrial user support.
- To carry out research with hard X-ray absorption techniques.
- Beamline upgrade, commissioning and maintenance.
- To carry out research with hard X-ray absorption techniques.

Requirements
The candidate should have a Ph.D. in chemistry, material science, physics, engineering or closely related discipline. He/she should also have a sound experience in the use of synchrotron radiation X-ray absorption techniques.In addition to that, he/she should have adaptability to international and multidisciplinary environment, sense of responsibility and ability to work as a team member as well as independently. Working language is English.
