Description
Forest ecosystems have important implications on the assessment of carbon exchanges and storage. Remote sensing data are important tool for the study of forests, and the fusion of different kinds of remote sensing data together with the development of new machine learning techniques represent a challenge for the future research. In this project, the fusion of multisource remote sensing data (both active and passive), and the development of new machine learning algorithms, will be carried out for forest ecosystems analysis. The developed methods will be applied on important topics including species identification, above ground biomass estimation, GHG fluxes and forest ecosystem modeling. This project will have host universities in both Norway and Belgium. To have more details about the project FORESTFUSION, please click in the following page,
