Description
LEQUIA (the Laboratory of Chemical and Environmental Engineering) is a research group of the University of Girona devoted to the development of eco-innovative water solutions. LEQUIA projects involve environmental scientists, chemists, biologists, engineers and computer scientists. Our research lines are:
i) design, operation and control of advanced processes for the biological treatment of industrial and urban wastewaters,
ii) valorisation of resources within the water-energy nexus,
iii) environmental decision support systems, and
iv) advanced oxidation/adsorption processes for the treatment of liquid and gaseous effluents.
We are seeking 1 postdoctoral researcher and 1 PhD student for a newly funded R&D project under the VII Framework Program of the European Commission.
Requirements
Applicants for the postdoctoral researcher must hold a doctoral degree and have proven experience on nitrogen and phosphorous recovery from wastewater, especially struvite precipitation and potassium struvite recovery. If you fulfil these requirements, are self-driven, highly motivated, are used to work to meet deadlines, and have good team management and communication skills, you may be the candidate we are looking for.
Applicants for the predoctoral researcher must hold a Master’s degree in chemistry, environmental sciences, biochemistry, microbiology, molecular biology or equivalent. The candidate will enrol the University of Girona doctoral program on Water Science and Technology. If you fulfil these requirements, are hard-working, highly motivated and interested in developing a career in applied research, you may be the candidate we are looking for.
