PostDoc - Carbon dioxide storage

Description
 
Research and planning of research in geophysics field with special emphasis on geological storage of CO2. The post-doc will participate in the EU TRUST project Uppsala university is participating in and in which one component includes developing new methods and models for quantifying the suitability of salt water aquifers for CO2 storage. Seismic modeling and data acquisition along with interpretation of active and passive seismic data within the project will be the primary research areas. This is a research position, but teaching up to 20% may be part of the of the duties.
 
Requirements
 
We are seeking a motivated candidate with a good track of scientific publications and a strong interest in new research ideas who has a PhD degree in geophysics. Applicants must have received their PhD within the past 3 years from the application deadline. Experience with active and/or passive seismic data imaging is necessary. Linux/Unix skills are desirable, programming skills are required, and knowledge of software such as GMT, Seismic Unix and shell scripts is a merit. The successful applicant is expected to spend time in the field operating geophysical instruments.
