Postdoctoral Position is available at POLYMAT. Applicants must have a PhD (or equivalent) in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering. We are looking for a candidate with extensive research experience in the interface of synthetic and supramolecular chemistry with materials science for electronic applications. In particular with experience:

(i) in the design and multistep organic synthesis and characterisation of pi-conjugated oligomers (such as OPE-napthalenediimides and azaacenes) and polymers (such as functionalized polythiophene) for photovoltaic and sensing applications

(ii) noncovalent functionalization of carbon nanotubes with polymer and small molecules (including preparation/characterization of organic/carbon naotubes thin films)

(iii) device preparation (photoelectrochemical cells and sensors)

(iv) characterization (in solution and the solid state) of oligomer self-assembled photosystems,

(v) optical and electronic characterization of pi-conjugated systems i.e., UV-vis-NIR absorption, fluorescence, Raman, cyclic voltammetry, thermal gravimetric analysis, and Quartz crystal microbalance.

Good command of written and spoken English is a must (if preselected, a telephone interview will be carried out before any other appointment is made). The selected candidate is expected to conduct research, write reports, and papers.
