Experience/skills required:
- Master level degree in engineering
- Experience on organic waste management at industrial scale, such as anaerobic digestion or composting
- Experience on carbon footprint measurement of food products
- LCA software: SIMApro
- Language programming: Matlab, VB (or similar)
Applicants should also have excellent interpersonal as well communication skills (both written and oral) in English.
Valuable experience/skills:
- Experience leading projects, some knowledge on GIS tools, some research publications.
- Foreign stays in research institutions linked with GHG, waste treatment technologies.
- Experience in leading engineering companies and expertise on waste treatment plants.
- Technical expertise within the Waste Management sector in leading engineering companies, ideally including comprehensive knowledge of designing and managing waste treatment technologies.
- Master studies in management, treatment and use of organic wastes including economic and environmental issues related to GHG.
- Good knowledge of carbon and water footprint measurement related to the food chain. State of the art and existing methodologies.
- A good level of Spanish (written and spoken) is desirable.
Location: Basque Centre for Climate Change, Bilbao (Spain).
Tenure: The contract will start as soon as the position is filled. It will be for a period of 2 years, with a possibility of extending it another 2 years upon positive performance assessment.
