A Biologist (Research Associate I Special) position is available with the Center for Environmental Management of Military Lands. This position is located at Camp Roberts, California.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The biologist position is a generalist position that includes a broad range of tasks including surveying, monitoring, review and writing of reports, briefing environmental issues, data entry, record keeping, and other related tasks.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
MS in biology, wildlife biology, natural resources management, or closely related field. Two years professional experience in the field of wildlife biology, ecology, environmental science or a related field. Have or be able to obtain a valid driver’s license. CSU conducts a background check on all final candidates.

Experience in management of natural resources on public lands and an understanding of conflicts inherent in multiple use objectives. Experience with wildlife surveys, especially with rare and endangered species. Experience with environmental laws and their implementing regulations, such as NEPA and the Clean Water Act. Excellent technical writing skills. Strong computer skills including word processing, database entry, and data retrieval. Strong organizational skills. Experience working on a military installation, and familiarity with military training requirements.

SALARY AND BENEFITS
Salary is commensurate with experience and qualifications. Range $40,000-$44,000. Colorado State University offers a generous benefits package including 24 days of paid vacation leave, tuition credits, excellent health insurance (including vision and dental), and retirement plans with 9% matching.
