Description

The Foothills Facility for Remote Sensing and GIScience (www.ucalgary.ca/f3gisci), a research lab within the Department of Geography, University of Calgary, is seeking MSc and PhD candidates for several fully‐funded positions starting in the Fall of 2014.  

Requirements

The ideal applicants would be independent, highly‐motivated students with background in remote sensing, GIS, and forest ecology.  Research themes are diverse but revolve around monitoring resource development and its cumulative effects in the boreal forest of western and northern Canada, and may include field work in remote areas.

Interested students are invited to prepare an application package including a cover letter, CV, 
transcripts, and three letters of reference.  Please submit the complete package to Jennifer Hird (jnklasse@ucalgary.ca) by January 26, 2014.  Successful candidates will be invited to submit a full application to the Department of Geography immediately thereafter.
