PostDoc - Properties of materials through computer based simulations

Description

A funded contract has been opened for people interested in developing research lines involved in international projects EU+USA level, at Science and Technology Park, University of Burgos (Spain).
Current research is mainly related to the study the theoretical properties of materials through computer based simulations, including both qualitative behavior models and quantitative value estimations.
The present position is expected to be an expert in:
-Theoretical design of new advanced materials for Industry (nano and bio-nano technologies).
-Multiscale modeling of advanced Nano-structured materials for engineering.
-Super-Materials at extreme conditions.
-Modelling advanced materials.
Duties: Modelling Materials, guiding PhD students, participate in the redaction and execution of proposals for the new EU framework H2020.

Requirements

The candidate is expected to have advanced knowledge in Molecular Dynamics, DFT, kinetic-Montecarlo techniques and similar applied into nanotechnology, open and communicative, with strong background in computer simulation and modeling of materials, EU-PhD title or adapted to the Spanish system is required.

More information and applications

Duration: one year + one year (may be extended during three extra years)
Amount: 28.000 €/year (brut). Salary complements are possible if the candidate shows competitiveness and is able to generate industrial or EU-H2020 projects.
Note that Burgos is one of the Spanish cities with highest quality of life. Cost of the life is 15-20% less than in other regions of Spain.
