Description
You will be a member of a multi-disciplinary team active in the design and development
of innovative earth observation systems (small satellite and UAV based). You will be
involved in one or more of the following activities:
Definition and conceptual design of multi/hyperspectral optical instruments based on
state-of-the-art technologies, matching the mission and system requirements to the
end-user application requirements.
Specification/development of image processing modules and chains for radiometric and
geometric correction, projection, atmospheric correction, and Level3 added value
products.
Radiometric/Geometric onground and vicarious sensor calibration and validation
methods.
End-to-end system performance studies to assess the feasibility of new instrument
concepts for applications in the field of vegetation, agriculture, environmental and
disaster monitoring.
Contribution to proposal writing and project reporting in national and international R&D
projects (ESA, FP7, …).
Requirements
The expert has a Bachelor or Master degree and in depth knowledge and proven record
in multiple topics.
The expert should be able to communicate (orally and in writing) effectively in English:
knowledge of Dutch, French is an asset. He/she should be open-minded, team-oriented
and solution oriented.
Knowledge of remote sensing instrument technologies, calibration/validation,
processing and applications, both on a theoretical and a practical level.
Practical programming skills are required, skilled in one or more of the following
programming languages: C/C++, Java, Matlab, IDL, …
