We are looking for a candidate with a background in Enzyme Technology to apply for either a Marie Curie Intra-European Fellowship for Career Development (IEF) of a Marie Curie International Incoming Fellowship (IIF) action whithin the European People Programme. The fellow would work for two years at the Chemistry Lab, Dept Physical Chemistry, School of Industrial Engineering, University of Castilla-La Mancha, Albacete, Spain. We are interested in studying new possible applications of oxidoreductase enzymes (peroxidase, polyphenol oxidase, laccase, etc), immobilized on different materials. The main goals of our research are the development of electrochemical and/or optical biosensors for different target compounds of interest, the possible use of different enzymes in bioreactors for industrial applications, and even computer simulation of mechanisms and biochemical pathways involving the enzymes under study. The project proposal should fit in these research lines. The selected candidate will be supported in the writing and development of his/her project proposal by Dr. E. Valero.
Requirements
Candidates should hold a PhD in Enzymatic Catalysis or related field. Experience in enzyme immobilization, biosensors design, industrial enzyme applications and/or computer simulation would be an asset. The candidate must have a good publication record in quality peer-reviewed journals, demonstrated creative thinking, be able to work independently and fulfill of the requirements of the relevant call (FP7-PEOPLE-2013-IEF or FP7-PEOPLE-2013-IIF).
