Research Assistant – Flow Cytometry and Cell Sorting

Description
 
The Spanish National Cancer Research Center (CNIO) is one of the leading European cancer research centres conducting basic and translational cancer research. Research groups are supported by state-of-the-art Core Units that offer a wide range of services and cutting-edge technologies. The CNIO enjoys an international atmosphere. The working language is English and about one third of its scientists, including group leaders, come from outside Spain. We are looking for a Research Technician – Flow Cytometry and Cell Sorter Operator who will be working in our group (not in the core facility). In this position, you will operate and maintain a state-of-the-art high speed cell sorter (2012 MoFlo Astrios) for cancer stem cell purification and subsequent single cell analysis/processing. You will be working with primary cancer tissue from mouse and human as well as blood samples for the isolation of circulating cancer stem cells. You will be directly involved in research projects under supervision by an experienced staff scientist as well as work in close collaboration with other scientists within the Stem Cell & Cancer group.
 
Requirements
 
We are seeking for an enthusiastic person with a track record in flow cytometry/cell sorting of at least 3 years. Know-how in operating a MoFlo type cell sorters is highly advantageous.
