IMDEA is a network of research centres promoted and recently created by the Regional Government of “Comunidad de Madrid” in Spain. This new institutional framework is aimed to put together public and private supports for science and to lead scientific research towards excellence by creating a framework that will be appealing for international talented scientists.IMDEA Energía Institute develops R&D activities in energy-related themes, with main emphasis in renewable energy and clean energy technologies. The ultimate goal will be to achieve outstanding scientific and technological contributions for reaching a sustainable energy system. The Energy Systems Analysis Group of IMDEA Energía is opening a Postdoctoral Scientist Position on Simulation of Energy Systems, with the following characteristics:
 
- Research and development in the field of Energy Systems Analysis.
- R&D on simulation and costing about power plants.
- R&D work for national and international research projects on Energy Systems Analysis.
- Dissemination and publication of research results in scientific journals.
 
Requirements
 
- Ph.D. degree in Energy, Mechanical, Chemical Engineering, or a related area.
- Solid backgroundin new, conventional and alternative energy systems.
- Solid backgroundon power plants: thermodynamic cycles, simulation and optimization.
- Skilled in power plants simulation software packages.
- Fluent in English.
- Programming experience is also valuable.
 
More information and applications
 
Remuneration: Between 32,000 € – 37,000 €per year, depending upon qualification and expertise.
Duration: 1 year, extendable for 4 years more.
