PostDoc - European project Eco2CO2

Chemichal Technologic Center of Catalonia
Tarragona, Spain

Description

The CTQC is a non‐profit organization that was mostly created to work with companies in RDi projects. To reinforce his research potentiality, the CTQC agreed in 2009 with the Universitat Rovira i Virgili (Tarragona) to carry out collaborative projects and as such, some URV staff is involved in this project and enables young researchers to develop their technical and scientific careers in academia with strong links with industry. The CTQC team is extremely active in the field of homogeneous and nanocatalysis, involving projects focusing on enantioselective processes for fine chemicals production and on bulk chemicals processes in collaboration with industrial partners. The team has expertise in the study of catalytic processes and in particular in the design and synthesis of organic ligands and their application in catalytic reactions. High pressure NMR and high pressure IR equipments are available in our lab to perform mechanistic studies under operando conditions.

A two year postdoctoral position is available from the 1st of February 2013 to develop new chromophore molecules for the development of photocatalysts involved in artificial photosynthesis. The project involves the design, synthesis and characterization of organic and organometallic molecules with absorption at selected wavelengths.

Requirements

The candidate should have a Ph.D degree and a strong expertise in organic synthesis and experience in organometallic synthesis would be a plus.

Applications

If interested, please send your curriculum vitae, a brief summary of research experience and names of two referees to:

Prof. Carmen Claver carmen.claver@urv.cat or Dr. Bernabe F. Perandones
