Description:
The research program aims to analyze and develop technologies able to support the creation of Cloud computing Infrastructures that allow user to get take advantage of interactive 3D "legacy" applications provided by the model SaaS (Software as a Service). These applications are basically visualization tools, CAD software, 3D interactive applications, and so on. The research program activities will be therefore related to design and develop enabling and integrated technologies able to extend the Cloud Computing paradigm to efficiently support and host interactive 3D applications (3D cloud). In particular, the program will be focused on three main topics:
(i) technologies for virtualization and sharing of hardware graphics resources (GPUs),
(ii) remote visualization of 3D applications
(iii) management of interactive 3D sessions.
