Description:
To assist in the environmental consultancy works at Phlorum Ltd. This will primarily involve work in: Japanese knotweed; ecology; air quality; environmental auditing, monitoring and surveys on site; plus assisting with report writing and project management. A large part of the work will require the person to assist with the Japanese knotweed work on sites, including site supervising and herbicide spraying. The work will include periods on site and in the office. During the growing season the main part of the work will involve managing and undertaking herbicide spraying using a knapsack. Phlorum operates at development and construction sites, and some residential sites, across the country. The work required of the successful applicant could involve long hours in the office, on site and periods staying away from home. We are keen for the appointed person to develop and assist in all other areas of work undertaken by Phlorum. This includes assisting with the other areas of work such as, but not limited to: sustainability; marketing; and general office management. In-house training and equipment will be provided. If necessary, Phlorum will pay for additional training from external, professional sources. The development of the role will depend on the attitude, experience and willingness to learn of the successful applicant. There is the opportunity to progress to a more senior, management role within the company.
Requirements:
A driving licence and own car are essential for the role. Good communication, written and computer skills are also required. PA1, PA6AW license would be an advantage, but not essential. Good ecological identification skills would be an advantage, but not essential.
