Protein modification by drugs

Centro de Investigaciones Biológicas, CSIC
Madrid, Spain

Description

Protein modification by drugs may play a key role in the mechanisms of drug action and in the development of adverse reactions. These processes are in turn modulated by the pathophysiological context in which they take place. The research project aims to study the mechanisms and consequences of protein modification by drugs through multidisciplinary approaches. The project is integrated in a network structure with participation of both clinical and basic research groups.

Requirements

At least three years of postdoctoral training, preferable in international institutions, is desirable. Candidates should be familiar with the following fields/techniques:

- cellular and molecular biology (cell culture, functional studies, confocal microscopy, flow cytometry, cloning, mutagenesis and transfection)
- protein biochemistry (protein expression and purification, protein characterization and modification, structural techniques)
- proteomics (1 and 2D electrophoresis and mass spectrometry). Communicating skills will be valued.

Applications

A competitive CV with a good record of publications in international Journals and a good level of English language are needed. If interested in this offer, please send CV to dperezsala@cib.csic.es, before January 15th, 2013.
