PhD - Near surface geological heat storage in urban areas

Description
 
The department of Applied Geology is offering a PhD position on the porject "Geochemical investigation of effects from near-surface geological heat storage in urban areas: Quantification of site-specific near-surface changes in hydrogeochemical ground water composition as a function of temperature." The project is part of the joint research project ANGUS+: "Effects of using the geological subsurface as a thermal, electrical or material storage system in the context of the energy turnaround - Dimensioning, risk analysis, impact predictions as basis of a future land use planning for the subsurface"
 
Requirements
 
The candidate should have an MSc or an equivalent degree in Geology, Earth Sciences, Geo-Ecology or a related subject. Desirable is profound knowledge in inorganic aquatic geochemistry and experience in experimental and analytical laboratory work. The candidate should have excellent writing and verbal communication skills in at least English.
