Hospital Nacional de Parapléjicos
Toledo, Spain
Description
We look for a highly motivated young researcher interested in the relationship between the innate immune response and oligodendrogliogenesis. One position is available to conduct a Ph.D. at the Laboratory of Developmental Neurobiology of the National Hospital for Paraplegics (Grupo de Neurobiología del Desarrollo-GNDe; Hospital Nacional de Parapléjicos; Toledo, Spain) under the supervision of Dr. Fernando de Castro and Dr. Diego Clemente. Among other research lines, our group studies the relationship between the innate immunosuppressive activity exerted by myeloid-derived suppressor cells and other immune cells and the neuro-repair of the multiple sclerosis lesions (i.e. oligodendroglia survival, migration, proliferation and myelination). The successful candidate will apply for her/his own funding under future national and international fellowship programs (FPU and FIS Programs at MINECO-Spain; EMBO, EU Marie Curie Program, HSFP, others). We offer a salary for the time necessary to get feed-back from these institutions
