Description
We seek candidates to apply for an advanced research position at GRIB (IMIM-UPF) in the competitive call “TECNIOSPRING” co-funded by the 7th Framework Program of the EU and the Catalan Government. Candidates should have at least nine years’ experience working on research or alternatively, a doctorate plus five years of postdoctoral experience. Additionally, one year experience in applied research or technology transfer is required. Experience in the management of research groups and/ or working in the private sector will be an advantage. This call is open to all nationalities and aims to attract research talent from abroad so it is mandatory that candidates should not have worked or lived in Spain for more than twelve months in the period from April 2010 to April 2012. The successful applicant is expected to develop a project focused on applied research and/ or technology transfer in one of the research areas of GRIB:
• Computational Genomics
• Structural Bioinformatics
• Computational Biophysics
• Chemogenomics
• Computer Assisted Drug Design
• Integrative Biomedical Informatics
The Research Programme on Biomedical Informatics (GRIB) is a joint research group of IMIM-Hospital del Mar Research Institute and Universitat Pompeu Fabra (UPF) located in Barcelona (Spain). We carry out fundamental research and technological developments on the application of advanced information technologies and computational methods in health and life sciences. GRIB has a wide experience in the participation and coordination of competitive research projects and a long tradition of collaborations with the pharmaceutical and biotechnological industry. GRIB is located at Biomedical Research Park of Barcelona (PRBB), where an exceptional cluster of research programmes and groups are working on Computational Biology and Biomedical Informatics.
