Description

 

We are seeking a Project Officer for Sustainable regeneration and energy to join a growing team of technical sustainability experts working with the Council to make the London Borough of Sutton a flagship sustainable borough. The One Planet Sutton team is undertaking a project to physically and economically regenerate a small town in the borough. The post holder will work within the Regeneration team to support the delivery of this interesting and challenging project in the following areas of work:

• Working with shops in the town centre to reduce their environmental impact through energy assessment, environmental auditing, policy writing and workshops
• Researching environmental, economic and social best practice in small and large retail organisations
• Using this knowledge to implement practical sustainability measures in retail units
• Implementing a communications strategy engaging stakeholders in the regeneration process
• Organising and administering meetings of the project’s key stakeholders, including meetings of a new Traders Association.

 

The role is part-time, 3 days a week. BioRegional are developing work on sustainable energy solutions in Sutton and subject to funding this could result in an extension of the role to a full time position. The role involves working closely with others in the Project Team and One Planet Sutton team, and reports to the Project Manager for Regeneration. You will play a key part in liaising with other project managers within all other teams in the organisation.
The position is based at our offices at BedZED eco-village in Hackbridge, Sutton, Surrey. 30 minutes by train from London Victoria.

Salary: £19,500 - £22,500 pa plus 6% employer’s ethical pension plan contribution
