Description
The activities to be carried out in this research grant can be subdivided into two main different areas. The first one focus more on hardware and on laboratory work and in particular on the development of gas detectors such as drift chambers with helium based mixtures and technologies such as "cluster counting" for the MEG experiment at PSI in Zurich, or development of Micromegas chambers for the upgrade of the ATLAS experiment at CERN. The second one will be focused on the analysis of the enormous amount data collected in 2011-2012 from the ATLAS experiment at the LHC with particular attention on supersymmetric particle searches or electroweak physics, or on the development of the code needed to analyze the data which will be collected in the next run at the MEG experiment.
