Description:
The selected candidate will work as a research engineer in projects related to Green IT and will report to the Head of the Thermal Energy and Building Performance Group. The main project where the applicant will work on is the EU project COOLEMAL
He/she will work on the analysis of consumption of data centers (DC) and will propose efficient systems of production, as well as preparing feasibility studies for integration of renewable energy in DC, doing research on improvements in this area. The researcher will attend to seminars related to the subject and will have to be updated on the innovations and market trends, keeping in touch with manufacturers of equipment for the HVAC DC. He/she will also have to collaborate in preparing proposals for submission to national and European R&D funding programs, and in the search for partners such as companies, universities and research centers for project development.
Requirements:
Experience in cooling systems and good knowledge of the issues related to the design of CPD rooms and metrics. We are looking for a methodical and rigorous person with a scientific spirit and results oriented. Teamwork and communication skills will also be a requirement. The candidate should also have experience in EU research projects. A University degree in Mechanical Engineering, or similar will be required. Mastery of English on all levels will be essential. Knowledge of other languages will be desirable. Applicants should accomplish the requeriments to act as In-house consultant.

Knowledge in simulation tools (e.g. TRNSYS, CFD).

We also offer a team comprised of highly qualified and motivated professionals. 15 working days/month, 30-32€/hour, as In-house consultant from 01/10/2012 to 31/3/2014.
